Ellis, Ted

Ted T. Ellis was born and raised in New Orleans, LA in 1961. He earned a BSc. in chemistry from Dillard University on a R.O.T.C. scholarship, then served in the US Army, and subsequently worked as an environmental chemist. Passionate about art and painting since childhood, he resigned from his engineering job in 1996 to dedicate himself to painting. A self-taught artist, he considers his style to be a symbiosis of realism and expressionism. His prolific artistic practice includes cultural activism, lectures, and participation in exhibitions and competitions. He resides today in Friendswood, Tx.
