Blown glass, tooled, applied, acid-etched, 1997

As in his Anasazi Raven and Pot, displayed nearby, Morris explores in this work themes of archaeology and prehistory. An ancient type of drinking vessel known as a rhyton provides the model for this zoomorphic form. It is embellished with incised images and symbols inspired by petroglyphic art found in caves and on natural rock formations.
