Barry III A Japanese mother figure, wearing a traditional kimono and hairstyle, is seated in the pose of ancestral portraits. She both presents and shields the twin boy and girl on her lap. The children, in turn, both hold a maneki-neko — a beckoning calico cat that is the Japanese symbol for good luck and prosperity. This sculpture was commissioned by Carolyn Barry from the artist.
